About Us

J N Fine Art College, Gadag was established by Akhil Bharatha Kuruhina Shetty Sangha (R) Bangalore, in Jagadguru Neelakanteshwara Math, Betageri by Founder President Late Sri N S Tukka and Founder Secretary Late Sri G N Jadagoudar. Late Sri M R Bhagawan, being the Founder Principal contributed to the development of the Art Institute.

Founder Lecturers of J N Fine Art College were Renowned Artists and Former Students of J J School of Art, Mumbai Late Sri M A Chetty and  Sri C N Patil and Sri A A Shirahatti, Sri N K Halakeri, Gold medalist of J J School of Art  Mumbai Sri Jayavanth S Doddihal, Sri B F Badiger, and Late Sri N A Harlapur.

Management of Vidya Dan Samiti Gadag, Sri D B Huilgol and Sri Shrinivas Huilgol  by looking at the history and activities of J N Fine Art College took keen interest in taking over the institution and hence was taken over by  us (Vidya Dan Samiti Gadag) during the year 2006.

Currently the Institution is headed by Principal Dr. B L Chavan and  assisted by Lecturers        Sri M R Hebballi, Sri M R Harlapur, Sri Sangamesh Harlapur, Sri P B Bandi, Sri N T Malvadkar, Sri P S Lakkundi, Sri V L Belagali in striving hard to bring forward the Institution and  Late Sri V Y Somanakatti should also be remembered for his service to the institution.

Previously in 1980 there was DTC one year course , In 1981 a 2 year DMC Course and 3rd ,4TH and 5th year Painting courses and Art Master Diploma are made available.

In 2007 Bachelor of Visual Art course was introduced to the Curriculum and Currently in 2021-22 a 4 year course of degree Bachelor Of Visual Art (B.V.A ) semester wise is introduced as per NEP 2020.
